Thanksgiving is just around the corner; Take a moment to reflect on your family’s Thanksgiving traditions. At the Food Bank Network of the San Luis Valley, we’re hoping to ensure that our patrons are able to share in all these traditions along with us.
Last year, we distributed over 750 Thanksgiving boxes during our Great Thanksgiving Giveaway event. Families across the SLV received full Thanksgiving meals including corn, green beans, cream of mushroom soup, stuffing, cranberry sauce, canned pumpkin, canned sweet potatoes, pie crust, fresh produce, and of course, turkey.
This year, rising costs of groceries and other basic necessities have hit our clients hard, and we’ve seen our service numbers increase across our pantries. As inflation rises, our clients’ dollars simply don’t go as far as they once did. For some, the extra cost of a Thanksgiving meal isn’t feasible.
At the cost of $32.56, you can ensure that one family who otherwise could not afford a Thanksgiving meal can celebrate with their loved ones this holiday season.
