About ReThreads

Everyone deserves the feeling of "home sweet home"
ReThreads is a free community resource offering everyone access to clothes, shoes, home-goods, toiletries and other necessities. ReThreads especially works to ensure those living on limited incomes have access to life's most basic essentials. In addition, individuals and families often find what they need to make their house a home!

ReThreads works closely with Rainbow's End Thrift Store. Due to staffing and space limitations, ReThreads relies on Rainbow's End to process all donations. As such, to donate new or gently-used items to ReThreads, please drop them off between 10am-3pm on Monday-Saturday at the allocated donation zone in the alley behind Rainbow's End in Alamosa.

Everyone! There is no intake process or minimum income required to shop at ReThreads. Come visit and get what you need!

ReThreads functions like a smaller version of a thrift store…except everything is absolutely free! When you come visit, you are invited to scope out what we have available in store and try on garments in our dressing room. Any questions? Our manager will be happy to assist you in finding what you need!

If able, please bring your own bag or box!

Frequently asked questions

Every human being has the right to warm clothes, and ReThreads strives to guarantee that right. Whether it is a warm, winter coat or a new outfit for a job interview, ReThreads meets the needs of women, men, and children; anyone in need is welcome to visit ReThreads!

For many individuals and families experiencing poverty, the option to buy new kitchenware or winter clothes does not exist. Seemingly simple items like a saucepan or a winter coat do not make the cut when dire financial decisions must be made. At the same time, it is these simple items many of us take for granted even though they often make up an individual or family’s livelihood. A set of dishes or a warm sweater can make all the difference in building someone up and moving them towards their greatest potential. Rethreads meets needs by providing people access to basic necessities, enabling them to have their needs met without having to choose between one item over another. If an item is not currently at ReThreads, our ReThreads manager will coordinate with Rainbow’s End Thrift Store to try to help people find what they are looking for.

ReThreads is always looking for quality donations of clothing and shoes (men/women/children/babies), kitchen wares and utensils, small kitchen appliances, toilet paper and toiletries, diapers, and other household items.

Due to staffing and space limitations, all donations to ReThreads are processed through Rainbow’s End Thrift Store. As such, to give to ReThreads, please drop off your new or gently-used items in allocated donation zone in the alley behind Rainbow’s End in Alamosa; donations are accepted Monday through Saturday, from 10am – 3pm. Please inform staff that you wish for your donation to land in ReThreads!

We believe the feeling of "home sweet home" should be within reach for all. ReThreads endeavors to meet the basic human needs of local community members by providing free clothing and other essential items to those struggling to afford the purchase of these necessities.
