Leading up to Thanksgiving Day, the Food Bank Network of the San Luis Valley will be giving out 800 Thanksgiving boxes filled with a whole frozen turkey, stuffing, canned pumpkin pie filling, a variety of canned goods, and fresh carrots, potatoes, and onions. The Thanksgiving boxes will be distributed from the Network’s fifteen pantries to families across all six counties of the San Luis Valley.

This year, rising costs of groceries and other necessities have hit our clients hard, and we’ve seen our service numbers increase across our pantries…for reference, from 2022-2023 about 9,000 folks used our Network within the year but last year from 2023-2024, over 12,000 individuals relied on the Network.  As inflation rises, our clients’ dollars don’t go as far as they once did. For some, the extra cost of a Thanksgiving meal isn’t feasible.

At the cost of $32.45, you can ensure that one family who otherwise could not afford a Thanksgiving meal can celebrate with their loved ones and create meaningful traditions this holiday season.
