Millions of folks across the United States and globally are still unable to eat sufficient food to meet basic nutritional needs. Hunger Education Week is a series of events hosted by La Puente designed to increase awareness about the realities of hunger in the San Luis Valley.
This year’s events will take place April 15th to 20th.
The series will begin with a Pop-up tour with Cooking Matters (a local nonprofit partnership) at the Alamosa Food Bank.
Mid-week we’ll have our Fill the Van canned food drive from 10-6 outside of City Market and Safeway in Alamosa.
The week with conclude with an Activity Fair at Cole Park in collaboration with Church World Service. This final event is for everyone of all ages and abilities. There will be live music, relay races, education and story stations, and other solutions on how you can take a bite out of hunger.
