DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nJoin us at the La Puente Shelter on Thanksgiving; we are offering meals in person this year however\, we can’t do it without your help! La Puente needs volunteers for our Community Thanksgiving Meal which will take place on Thanksgiving Day\, based out of La Puente’s Shelter. The event will have seating outside for those who wish to stay. La Puente is proud to serve in a community that comes together to ensure that we all can enjoy the Holiday Season. \nWe are aiming to serve over 120 people this year\, up from 70 last year. That means we need more food! We will be able to source potatoes and turkeys ourselves\, but we need stuffing\, cranberry sauce\, rolls\, whipped cream\, apple cider\, hot chocolate\, bottles of water\, etc. – anything you would like to see on your own Thanksgiving plate\, we will happily accept. \nif you have any questions about what you can donate\, or if you would like to make a monetary donation instead\, please reach our via phone or email. This list is not exclusive- if you have a neat idea for a dish please don’t hesitate to ask! Please be aware that any dish you cook should serve at least 10-12 people. \nLastly\, we are also looking for those who are willing to hand out plates on Thanksgiving Day itself. DESCRIPTION:Thanksgiving is just around the corner; Take a moment to reflect on your family’s Thanksgiving traditions.  At the Food Bank Network of the San Luis Valley\, we’re hoping to ensure that our patrons are able to share in all these traditions along with us. \nLast year\, we distributed over 750 Thanksgiving boxes during our Great Thanksgiving Giveaway event. Families across the SLV received full Thanksgiving meals including corn\, green beans\, cream of mushroom soup\, stuffing\, cranberry sauce\, canned pumpkin\, canned sweet potatoes\, pie crust\, fresh produce\, and of course\, turkey. \nThis year\, rising costs of groceries and other basic necessities have hit our clients hard\, and we’ve seen our service numbers increase across our pantries. As inflation rises\, our clients’ dollars simply don’t go as far as they once did. A holiday variety show.  La Puente partners with Valley Wide Health Services and Adams State University Theater Department to support La Puente’s family of programs for those struggling with poverty and homelessness. La Puente is our community’s response to address the effects of poverty by providing a safety net of service\, where individuals and families get what they need to stabilize\, heal and ultimately thrive. \nJoin us December 4th for this Gala event. Dress-up\, enjoy the food & beverages\, and then see the show. DESCRIPTION:La Puente’s annual Christmas Party is an event that brings the community together to celebrate a season of giving and togetherness. This year\, We are bringing all the magic of Christmas outside! Join us for an outdoor drive-thru event on December 18th from 12-3. Location TBD. Guests will enjoy a winter wonderland drive-thru experience with decorations\, music\, hot coco\, Santa & gifts! COVID safety Precautions will be in place to protect guests and volunteers.\n\nWe are hoping to give out 800 presents this year\, but we can’t do that without the community’s help. To keep within COVID protocols we will not be taking physical gift donations this year. We will however accept wrapping supplies or monetary donations for gifts. DESCRIPTION:La Puente’s needs volunteers for our Community Thanksgiving Meal which will take place on Thanksgiving Day\, based out of La Puente’s Shelter. The event will adhere to all COVID-19 health and safety regulations by serving an in-person meal for shelter guests only\, along with to-go meals at the door. This is only made possible with the support of community members who donate their time\, money\, and food. DESCRIPTION:Thanksgiving is just around the corner; Take a moment to reflect on your family’s Thanksgiving traditions.  At the Food Bank Network of the San Luis Valley\, we’re hoping to ensure that our patrons are able to share in all these traditions along with us. \nLast year\, we distributed over 700 Thanksgiving boxes during our Great Thanksgiving Giveaway event.
